Boston Celtic Music Festival (2009) – Musical Warmth and Cheer on a Cold Winter’s Day in January

January 11, 2009 at 8:51 pm Leave a comment

I spent the most musically exhilerating Sat. afternoon today at the BCMFest in Harvard Square. I wish I could have stayed longer, however each of the 4 Celtic bands that I heard was well worth the time and price of admission ($16.00 for the day and $26.00 for the day/evening combo). Between Club Passim and the First Parish Church of Cambridge, there were four active stages. The bands played at staggered times, thus affording festival attendees access to continuous music all day long and well into the evening, which was to culminate in a grande finale concert featuring a whole host of Celtic performers. Here is a sampling of the bands who performed at the 6th annual BCMFest. Be sure and save the dates for next year’s event to be held on Jan. 8th and 9th.
