bellydance4Once featured on TV Diner with Billy Costa, the Athenian Corner Restaurant not only offers sumptuous Greek fare, but superb live music and bellydance entertainment as well. Nestled in the heart of downtown Lowell, this eatery has been known for its offering of ample portions for extremely reasonable prices since 1974. Better yet however, is that all of this is complemented by weekly offerings of live music for dancing and a bellydance show.

Dine and dance to the  Greek and Middle Eastern sounds of Freddie Elias and the Athenian Corner Ensemble. Elias, an extremely popular local violinist, is known for his ability to fuse together the elements of Arabic, Greek and Armenian music with a truly Westernized flare.  Then top your evening off with an enjoyable bellydance display. All this is happening weekly on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.

While you’re at it, take a peek at the menu.  Just to give you an idea, they offer popular Greek standards such as  Mousaka (eggplant, ground beef, and sliced potatoes with a creamy Bechamel sauce), Grape Leaves (stuffed with ground beef, rice, and seasonings and topped with an egg-lemon sauce), Pastitsio (macaroni and ground beef topped with a creamy Bechamel sauce), and Spanakopita (spinach and feta cheese pie, with a flaky Filo dough) … to name a few.

If you want to get a better idea of what the Athenian Corner has to offer, here are some local reviews.
