Pressure 1This nine piece band specializes in “old-school” style reggae  music of the 60’s and 70’s. Since their formation in 1997, PressureCooker has developed their own brand of Americanized reggae via their originally composed compositions which are characterized by  distinctive melody lines and strong rhythmic presence. In order to add some real flare to their sound, the group features a dynamic horn section.

NotesThey perform both locally and nationally and have recorded a number of cds to their credit which have been successfully marketed world-wide. This 3-time nominee of the Boston Music Awards has served as backed-up band for such reggae greats as Toots & the Maytals, Burning Spear, The Skatalites, Eek-A-Mouse, and Julian Marley. In addition, some of their selections have been featured in a television soundtrack. Check out their web site for listings of upcoming shows, music downloads, cds for purchase, photos, videos, press clippings, a news blog, and more.
