WUNR – Ethnic Radio Boston
WUNR (1600 AM) stands for “United Nations of Radio” and is one of Boston’s most well established sources of ethnic programming for area listeners. You can generally tune in from mid to late evening until early morning 7 days a week to enjoy great world music. But that’s not all. There is more music programming contained within the various individual radio shows which are aired throughout the day and into the evening hours.
While some of the shows are 100% talk , others are either all music or a mixture of both. Just consult the program schedule for descriptions of individual show content. You can also search the schedule by broadcasting language or country of origin. There is programming offered in Armenian, Greek, Haitian, Irish, Italian, Polish, Yiddish, Spanish, and English. Spanish language broadcasts originate in the countries of Argentina, Colombia, EL Salvador, and Honduras. I love the global coverage that this station offers! Talk about a real smorgasbord of world music entertainment. You can even proudly show your support for WUNR by purchasing a T-shirt or a bumper sticker. So tune in and enjoy!
