Enjoy Jazz Fusion at Its Best with Uruguayan Artist Beledo, While Sampling a Premier Wine of the Region @ The Beehive – (Tuesday, September 22nd @ 8:00 p.m.)

Listen to Beledo

belm1Savour the sound of cool jazz and the taste of a fabulous wine to go with it! Already considered a legend in his own country, Uruguayan jazz master Beledo has succeeded in creating his truly distinctive brand of world fusion by artfully blending elements of triste, milanga, chimarrita, candombe, Spanish flamenco, and classical music. First and foremost an acoustic guitar virtuoso, he also excels on the piano as well and has been featured in both Guitar Player and JAZZIZ magazines. You can read about his lengthy career either in summary or more at length by visiting his web site. Even more fun facts, photos, and sound clips can be enjoyed on his MySpace page. His latest cd release entitled Montevidoe Jazz Dreams features quite a line-up of some of  jazz’s biggest names. Currently based in NYC, Beledo performs regularly with the Safrojazz band OJOYO, led by renowned Uruguayan composer/performer Morris Goldberg.

While your enjoying all this great world music entertainment, don’t forget to sample the featured wine at the cash bar. In honor of Beledo’s home country, they are serving vintage from Bodegas Carrau, an exclusive producer from South America. Hmmm, world music and world wine- sounds like a great combo to me!
