Help Boston’s homeless bear the icy cold brunt of winter by donating your used but still wearable outdoor apparel to the cause, while enjoying some first-rate Scottish music compliments of the Hanneke Cassel Trio. Joining Cassel on fiddle will be Chris Lewis on guitar and Mike Block on cello. Cassel’s playing is known for its energetic playfulness and modern flare. Even though she blends much of her own contemporary style individual creativity into her renditions of Scottish folk music, she still manages to maintain the true traditional character of the genre.

A graduate of the Berklee College of Music and the 1997 National Scottish Fiddle champion, Hanneke Cassel has gone on to perform and teach in North America, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, and China. She performs in both solo and group settings and has been nominated in the past for a Boston Music Award amongst other honors she has gained for herself as well. She has graced the stage along side such superb artists as the Catholic Ryan Band, Cherish the Ladies, Alasdair Fraser, Matt Glaser, Wayfaring Strangers, and Joey McIntyre of the band New Kids on the Block and appeared at premier performance venues such as Symphony Hall, Boston’s Hatch Shell, Mountain Stage, The Plaza Hotel, and Lincoln Center. She has recorded no less than 14 cds. In her latest entitled “For Reasons Unseen” she is joined by such distinguished artists as Alasdair Fraser, Natalie Haas, Richard Eggleston, Casey Driesson, Brittany Haas, Keith Murphy, and Aoife O’Donovan. As can be expected, it features a fresh new approach to the traditional Scottish genre which brings elements of Americana, bluegrass, and global music to the overall mix.

At this upcoming  benefit concert, the Hanneke Cassel Trio will be joined by the duo Goli. Enjoy an evening of fine musical entertainment while supporting “Warm Clothes, Warm Hearts” as they shelter the homeless from the bitter cold this winter season.
