Dance the Night Away Until 3 a.m. This New Year’s Eve at Club Enigma’s Latin Dance Gala: December 31st, Friday (9:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.)

Join over 250 other lucky guests at Club Enigima’s New Year’s Eve salsa and Latin dance party gala. Hit the dance floor to the live sounds of global fusion band Ten Tumbao and other Latin selections compliments of DJ Hernan. Ten Tumbao‘s music, which is a combination of  jazz and African, Latin, and Caribbean genres, is known for its highly energetic and danceable character designed to keep you moving all night long. This grand event, sponsored by the Salsa Matei dance studio and Boston Salsero, begins with a cocktail party to be followed by complimentary salsa and  bachata lessons for beginners. It’s Mango’s Latin Night Every Weekend @ the Milky Way Lounge in Jamaica Plain: Saturdays @ 9:00 p.m.

Any weekend you just happen to be in the mood for some Latin dancing fun, just head on over to the Bella Luna Milky Way Restaurant and Lounge in Jamaica Plain. This brewery-style eatery has been in the food and entertainment business for over 16 years and is still going strong, after winning a Best of Boston award no less than 5 times! Each and every Saturday night is Mango’s Latin Night at this establishment. Let DJ Lee Wilson be your host for an evening filled with the best sounds of salsa, merengue, and other genres of Latin pop music. Start your evening off right with a complimentary salsa lesson and then get out there and join the party out on the dance floor. The atmosphere is definitely casual here at the Milky Way, but make sure you are properly attired in at least jeans and sneakers.

But wait … don’t go away yet world music fans! Once a month on Wednesdays is reggae night for more dancing pleasure. This event features both live and DJ hosted entertainment. But wait yet again …, as if this isn’t enough, there are even more world music happenings scheduled at various times throughout each month of the year.  For instance, on the roster for December and January are (or were at least) students from the Berklee College of Music presenting a mixture of international genres, Afro-funk band, the Macrotones, reggae artist iLa Mawana, Carlos and his Mambo Magic, and an as of yet undisclosed artist who will be featured on Samba Night. Hey World Music Fans! Enjoy Not One But Two Seperate Venues for World Music Entertainment in One Evening @ Boston’s New Year’s Eve Masked Ball: December 31st, Friday (9:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.)

There promises to be lots and lots of world music activity at the New Year’s Eve 2011 Bal Masque. This event, sponsored by V-World Enterprises, Roy Afrique, and Night Life Executives will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel Boston which is actually located near the airport.  Don your mask and dance the night away to a variety of world music, provided by internationally renown DJs. There will also be a live band playing, who is yet to be announced, as well as some additional music genres of a more Western nature including R&B, Top 40, mashups, and soul.  In addition to a complimentary mask (masque), party guests will also receive additional favors, “surprise gifts”, hors d’ouevres, and a glass of champagne to toast in the new year. In order to enjoy some of the best tables in the house, it is recommended  that one purchase VIP tickets or arrive at the event early.

Spend a New Year’s Eve Dancing the Night Away to the Sounds of Bollywood: December 31st, Friday (8:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.)

Dhoom Machale is, without a doubt, one of New England’s premier Desi New Year’s Eve dance parties. This popular event, sponsored by the United India and Sindhi Associations of New England, has been a sellout for no less than 3 consecutive years, so buy your tickets early. Music for the evening will be provided by the DJs at Magic Mike Group, who have earned a national reputation for their expertise in the area of Desi events.They’ll  be presenting not only Bollywood selections, but also Bhangra, Hip-hop, and Top 40 hits as well. Toast the “big event” at midnight with a complimentary glass of champagne while a live broadcast from New York’s Time Square flashes before you on the big-screen. 

As for the party extras, appetizers and dinner will be served compliments of the Bombay Club and the Masala Art Restaurant. Soft drinks are included and a full cash bar will be provided.
