About

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Nancy, a music librarian at the Boston Public Library and ecstatic lover of world music. I have entered the blogosphere to encourage Boston’s newcomers to this genre to give it a try and to share some of my global music experiences with more seasoned Boston area listeners as well. You’ll find information on Boston area concerts, festivals, dance exhibitions, entertainment venues, restaurants that host live music, local artists, and more. I’ll also be listing various world music cds we have available here at the Boston Public Library for you listening pleasure, as well as the ethnic music events we are hosting, all for free. There are plenty of links within my posts which will lead you to audio samples so you can hear and enjoy lots of great world music. All the posts will be categorized, so you can search them by subject if you wish. World music is so truly vast in its diversity, that I am sure you will find something here to please your ear. Again, welcome and happy listening!!!

*****Not From the Boston area? Then read on…

Even if you are not from Boston or nearby, this information can be very useful in a more general way. Aside from the specifics, you will get an idea of all the different types of settings in which you can enjoy world music. Then look for similar events and entertainment venues in your local area.

      Hi Paula;

      I would love to post your events on what was my blog, but I have moved to Miami. I would also love to attend if I still lived in the area.

      Regards,

      Nancy
